As a Mechanical/Electrical Fitter, you’ll play a key part in delivering essential maintenance and repair services across our Rail, Switchboard manufacture and diesel-powered generation systems. You’ll benefit from being part of a supportive team, hands-on training, and opportunities to broaden your skill set across electrical and mechanical disciplines.

What you will be doing:

Mechanically assemble switchboards for a major programme

Disassemble, inspect, clean, test and reassemble mechanical and electrical assemblies to strict standards
Work with diesel power rail power packs
Collaborate with team leads to ensure quality, delivery, and cost expectations are met
Maintain high standards of safety, documentation, and shop floor efficiency

Position Qualifications

Have completed a recognised mechanical or electrical apprenticeship (or equivalent experience)
Bring experience working on diesel engines or electrical systems in a service or MRO environment
Be comfortable working independently and as part of a close-knit, goal-focused team
Show good communication and documentation skills in a regulated environment
Demonstrate a hands-on, proactive approach with strong attention to detail

Preferred requirements:

You must demonstrate an ability to be work within a team orientated environment and collaborate across multiple functions. Good interpersonal skills and good communication is essential in addition to working in a systematic and structured manner.
A level of overtime working would be required to assist in the management of peak capacity loadings and customer demands.
